Concrete elements in public spaces

Garden furniture and furnishings – experiencing beauty not just at home

Each of us tries to make the house reflect our character, style and aesthetic preferences. However, not only the interiors of buildings or apartments may be compatible or not with our taste. Streets, residential areas, parks, gardens and broadly understood urban spaces can also be designed in such a way that being in them is a real pleasure for the eyes, brings peace of mind and a state of relaxation and bliss. Local council gardeners, architects or people responsible for arranging public spaces (and we ourselves, if we decide to design from scratch what our backyard garden or a local park should look like), have great power and possibilities – thanks to them and us, in many situations that are not usually associated with experiencing beauty, we can smile at the sight of a successful project and enjoyable playgrounds, charming alleys or gardens.

Growing up and living surrounded by beauty

According to the latest research, even several months old babies can have aesthetic experiences, perceive beauty in their own way and learn to deal with it. Therefore, it is worth bringing our children up in contact with nice things and in pleasant environments. Even the playground where our child plays, or the bench where we sit for a while, on the way back from work, can be designed with taste. A large amount of greenery is also important, so the ideal combination would be a playground with slides and swings, bicycle stands or a gazebo in the park or a hammock in the garden surrounded with garden furnishings, such as pots or concrete panels, thanks to which it would be possible to integrate vegetation into private or urban spaces.

Minimalist aesthetics, i.e. concrete garden elements

Aesthetic development affects the imagination, which is especially stimulated by non-literal and non-obvious objects and forms. By interacting with art, harmony and symmetry are more easily appreciated. The simplicity of the recently popular concrete garden structures and elements allows them to be combined with virtually any style, without disturbing it and without creating the impression of a  mishmash. Concrete pots will make squares, streets, sidewalks, shopping arcades, courtyards more attractive... Any place will benefit if we decorate it with greenery, which goes perfectly well with the simplicity of concrete. Minimalism is a great solution not only in fashion, but also in architecture. It is worth remembering when deciding to design a backyard garden or other area for which we are responsible.

Architectural concrete – one building material, many solutions

Modern building materials, from which garden furnishing elements are created, are characterised by high durability – both concrete and the recently popular corten steel are resistant to rainfall, wind or sunshine. Unlike decorative elements made of wood, they do not require regular maintenance. Their weight is not among the lightest, so they are less exposed to the risk of theft or falling over. The stylish shape of the pots offered, among others, by Contractors is the perfect counterpoint for even the most sophisticated shapes of oriental plants and colourful flowers. Architectural concrete is a hard building material in the literal sense and flexible in the metaphorical sense – it will adapt to almost any style, will not overwhelm it and will help to highlight the natural beauty of potted plants. Garden furnishing elements made of this raw material is a modern and practical solution, well worth considering.
