How to level a sloping plot

Uneven terrain can bring many problems, not only at the construction stage, but also at a later stage of development. How can we level a sloping plot? One of the options is costly earthworks, which consist of accurate surveying measurements and fertilisation or removal of the soil. Can they be avoided? An interesting alternative may be the appropriate landscaping of the space around the house using concrete panels. If the building is already finished, and the leveling of the area is to serve utility and aesthetic purposes, it is worth exploring the possibilities of levelling the plot on a slope without the need for heavy equipment and expensive specialists.

One of the most popular ideas is to build terraced gardens. These are special garden spaces that are built on different levels and connected by steps. This type of solution, resembling a large green staircase, is a perfect way to quickly and ingeniously level a plot on a slope. In this case, the soil levelling process itself is carried out only in specific areas. Their size depends on the slope of the terrain and the size of the plot itself. These can be flowerbeds with an area of several square meters, as well as large lawns with space for a terrace and a barbecue. Terraced gardens can help to compensate for drops of up to several metres if they are properly planned. Thanks to them, you can successfully grow flowers or vegetables in an area that used to be just a hill or a slope. If we decide on this solution, we need to bear in mind the forces that will push on the lower levels of our gardens. Their frame as well as supports must be solid. Wooden fencing will not work here, because wet soil can cause wood degeneration, and as a result its rotting and sliding of some of the upper gardens. Architectural concrete panels will be much better for this task. They allow for aesthetic fencing of levels and provide adequate strength for individual terraces.

How to level the garden using steps?

Another interesting way to level our plot to create a functional garden is to use steps. Steps that can be used for this purpose must be bigger and longer, with enough room for additional decorative pots or garden decorations, lamps or anti-mosquito candles. They can run through the entire property, connecting the terraced gardens on the elevation with the entrance to the house at the bottom of the property. When looking for a suitable and durable material for use on slopes, it is worth considering architectural concrete. As in the case of terraced gardens, we can be sure that they will be sufficiently durable and will not be destroyed by rainwater flowing from higher parts of the terrain or by intensive use. It is worth adding that concrete panels will also allow you to build fashionable floating steps

Palisades and fences

What else can be done on a sloping plot when heavy equipment and fertilising the land are not an option? Another option is to use concrete garden palisades. Architectural concrete panels are available in many dimensions and allow you to build flower beds, fences of terraces, barbecue places, and even garbage fences. Robust concrete is a guarantee of the robustness of any structure, even on a sloping terrain!
